Job Description

Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting for a 3rd Shift Machine Operator for our client located in Attleboro, MA
 
Schedule: Monday to Friday/ 4:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Possible OT)
Pay: $18 per hour 
 
SUMMARY:
Operate machinery associated with the production of high-precision single-feature customers' parts, to produce a quality product. The types of machines operated are single-feature product machines and/ or complex inspection and testing. May run more than one machine simultaneously.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Operates equipment safely.
  • Participate as a member of work teams. Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Work with team members, other business functions, customers, and suppliers to continually improve these measures.
  • Participates in Level 3 activities such as scrap and rework elimination projects along with various other kaizen events.
  • Work from work instructions, prints, in-process inspection plans, engineering layouts, customer specifications, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Machine parts. Load and unload parts. Operate and adjust machines and equipment to maintain required sizes and finishes. Observe operation and monitor controls.  Make piece inspection and any required adjustments. Use a variety of gages and other measuring instruments to maintain tolerance, parallelism, concentricity, and finish.
  • Meets quality standards while maintaining the expected production rate.
  • Replace worn/ dull tooling.
  • Wash and pack parts as required.
  • Accurately complete required quality and production reports and records using paper and paperless electronic computer applications.
  • Daily maintenance and cleaning of machines including lubrication. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and/or unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Attends required training programs.
  • Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
  • Arrange schedules to meet customer needs.
  • May be required to use lift equipment as necessary to move and position stock and parts.
  • Use care to safely lift and balance loads properly. 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Read and write in English. 
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Computer Knowledge to enter data into production applications and complete the required reports.
  • Strong attention to detail to detect and identify typical defects found in materials. 
  • Ability to lift heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds (or more if applicable)
  • Willingness to work as a team player.
  • Ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • At least 9 months of work experience and/or volunteer experience.
  • Basic Mathematical skills are required.
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
  • Up to 6 weeks of on-the-job training to become familiar and confident with essential duties General Orientation
  • Annual Safety training programs (Hearing Conservation, etc.)
  • Quality System Awareness Training
  • Level 3 Training
  • Certified tow motor operator and/or overhead crane operator (if job requires use).
