Job Description
Debbie’s Staffing is recruiting Ingredient Control Specialists for our client located in Concord, NC!
Schedule: Thursday-Sunday 6:00am-4:30pm
Pay: $22.00/hr. Weekly Pay! Temp to Hire!
Essential Functions:
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all raw materials.
- Perform routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system inventories.
- Track ingredient usage rates and support forecasting efforts to ensure consistent production supply.
- Monitor expiration dates, shelf-life parameters, and storage conditions to ensure ingredient freshness and safety.
- Verify incoming ingredients against purchase orders, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and company quality specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections, sample testing, and preliminary quality checks upon receipt.
- Ensure all raw materials comply with FDA, USDA, and other relevant regulatory requirements, as well as internal food safety standards.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, or documentation requirements.
- Track and archive COAs, lot numbers, and traceability records for all ingredients.
- Support audits by providing detailed ingredient and traceability documentation.
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Procurement to support new product launches and ingredient changes.
- Provide ingredient information to internal teams for formulation, labeling, and compliance needs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, ingredient handling, and quality processes.
- Other tasks may be required.
Successful Candidate Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing, warehouse operations, or quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP/MRP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, allergen control).
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must have attention to detail, and work well with other departments and individuals.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
