Warehouse Clerk - 2nd Shift (3:45 p.m. – 12:15 a.m.) M-F (some weekends and 9 hour shifts during Peak)
Martinsville, VA
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Position Description Overview:
Direct and control warehouse operations, stock deployment functions, and inventory control functions involved in the physical distribution of company products; ensure cost effective operations while meeting quality customer service and inventory turnover objectives. Perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties.  Use computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follow shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receive incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations
Principal Accountabilities:
Under close supervision:
• Coordinate the activities of incoming and outgoing shipments • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment • Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Physical Requirements:
    Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs
    May require several hours per day of sitting, walking, getting up and down from chairs, walking up and down stairs, and reaching, or bending
Education / Experience / Skills Required:
    High School diploma or GED equivalency required; higher education preferred
    One year of experience in a similar role preferred
    Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Crystal Report preferred
    Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
    Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals
    Ability to pay close attention to detail
    Strong communication and organizational skills
    Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language
