Job Description
 
 
Job Title:  Inspector Class I – Quality Control
Reports To:  Quality Control Manager
Payrate: $24-30 p/hr  7-3:30 pm
 
The company is looking for a motivated and self-starter individual to fill an opening for a full-time Inspector. This full-time position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm with 30-minute lunch. 
 
SUMMARY 
Set-up and perform a wide variety of mechanical and visual inspections, to close tolerances, on highly diversified and complex parts and/or assemblies.  High degree of customer and government representative(s) interfacing. 
 
Willingness to work/train towards becoming an NDT Level II Inspector in VT, MT, and PT should the need arise. These duties would entail the visual inspectionmagnetic particle inspection, and/or liquid penetrant inspection of welds ansurfaces of finished parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Determine inspection set-up and determine inspection methods.  Notify manufacturing / assembly when non-conforming conditions are detected.  Request corrective action; monitor output to assess effectiveness of corrective action.  Complete record of inspection results and originate related inspection reports as prescribed by procedure.  Utilize statistical quality control techniques such as X and R charts, machine and process capability analyses, and selection and utilization of appropriate sampling plans.  Review data for quality trend evaluation.  Notify supervisor when action is needed.
 
Use a complete range of mechanical inspection equipment such as CMM machine, FARO Arm, Keyence Wide Area CMM, micrometer, height stand, surface plate, thread and plug gauges, hardness tester, optical comparator, gauge blocks and plating thickness gauge.  Recommend new or improved inspection equipment and more efficient and economical inspection methods.  
 
Perform final product and assembly inspections and tests.
 
Perform first piece inspection, when required, for very complicated parts.  
 
Inspect vendor supplied items for purchase order compliance.  
 
Maintain work area neat and orderly.
 
Observe all health and safety requirements.
 
Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Associates Degree or equivalent technical school training
  • 4-5 years’ Inspection experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem solver and ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
