Job Description
Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting for Machine Operator for our client located in Attleboro, MA
Schedule: 7:00 am-3:30 pm/Monday to Friday (work on weekends may be required)
Pay rate: $16.50 per hour.
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a self-motivated Machine Operator for the 1st Shift to join our production department. RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)
- Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Participates in Level 3 activities such as scrap and rework elimination projects along with various other kaizen events.
- Follow work instructions, prints, in-process inspection plans, engineering layouts, and customer specifications.
- Load and unload parts. Operate and adjust machines and equipment to maintain required sizes and finishes. Observe operation and monitor controls.
- Make piece inspection and any required adjustments. Use a variety of gages and other measuring instruments to maintain tolerances, parallelism, concentricity, and finish.
- Meets quality standards while maintaining the expected production rate.
- Replace worn/ dull tooling.
- Wash and pack parts as required.
- Accurately complete required quality and production reports and records using paper and paperless electronic computer applications.
- Daily maintenance and cleaning of machines including lubrication. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and/or unusual conditions to the supervisor.
- Attends required training programs.
- Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
- Arrange schedules to meet customer needs.
- May be required to use lift equipment as necessary to move and position stock and parts.
- Use care to safely lift and balance loads properly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Read and write in English.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Computer Knowledge to enter data into production applications and complete the required reports.
- Strong attention to detail to detect and identify typical defects found in materials.
- Ability to lift heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds (or more if applicable)
- Willingness to work as a team player.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic Mathematical skills required.
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
- Up to 6 weeks of on-the-job training to become familiar and confident with essential duties General Orientation
- Annual Safety training programs (Hearing Conservation, etc.)
- Quality System Awareness Training
- Level 3 Training
- Certified tow motor operator and/or overhead crane operator (if job requires use).
