Job Description
Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting a Maintenance Technician to work for our client located in Winston Salem, NC.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Pay Rate: $34.56/hr.
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of mechanical tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of tobacco processing equipment and mechanical systems. They are responsible for equipment maintenance, repairs, and adjustments.
Responsibilities:
- Build, install, inspect, test, repair, and modify various mechanical equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and correct machine and mechanical system problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning.
- Fabricate, install, and repair conveying equipment, process equipment, piping, pumps, and more.
- Conduct minor electrical work as authorized.
- Align and set machinery using precision levels and lasers.
- Work from blueprints and schematics.
- Utilize hand tools, measuring devices, and powered machinery.
- Work in confined spaces as authorized.
- Operate industrial vehicles, climb ladders, and use powered lifts.
- Order parts, enter work history, and create repair records using computer applications.
- Follow safety and GMP standards.
- Communicate effectively with peers and management.
- Adhere to environmental, health & safety policies.
Position Requirements:
- WorkKeys: Reading for Information Level 3, Applied Mathematics Level 3, Locating Information Level 5, Observation Level 5.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with three years of mechanical experience in manufacturing or related fields.
- Microsoft Office Professional Suite proficiency.
- Ability to perform maintenance and adjustments on manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical circuits, sheet metal, pipefitting, and millwright functions.
- Experience with maintenance data collection systems.
- Ability to occasionally lift/position materials up to 100 lbs. and work at heights of 40 feet.
