General requirements of this job are to operate knitting machines. To monitor quality by inspecting fabric. Replace ends of nylon and lycra when they break out of knitters. Check warps and tensions of knitters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspect fabric (with light) daily on all machines to spot problems.
Replace ends of nylon and lycra.
Repair smashes - daily.
Monitor beams as far as low warps, warp outs, beams slipping, other warp problems - daily.
Check tensions on knitters - daily.
Creel Rascheltronic machines.
Watch for safety hazard.
Work with Fixers, Mechanics to solve and trouble shoot problems with machines.
Abide by all safety rules, and company policies.
Advise oncoming shifts of any quality related problems or mechanical problems with equipment.
This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While Creeling the associate is required to:
- to lift approximately 5 pounds/pern
- Change approximately 40 perns/hr. stocking creel at start.
- Change approximately 5 - 10 perns/hr. while spot creeling
- Work performed at 12-24 inches overhead (use of stepstool required) and creel perns approximately 4 inches above floor.
- Bending stooping and squatting required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is at elevated levels requiring associates to wear hearing protection.
