POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Materials Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently managing outbound and inbound product flow within the warehouse. This includes accurately picking and staging orders for shipment or pickup, receiving and storing incoming shipments, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all company and warehouse policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain proper certification to operate warehouse equipment; inspect forklift daily for safety.
- Read work orders and follow instructions to pick and stage outbound products using a forklift.
- Receive inbound shipments from manufacturers, safely storing materials within the warehouse.
- Sort and organize orders based on size, pickup times, and delivery schedules.
- Utilize scan guns to receive materials, unpack pallets, and store items in designated locations.
- Process returns according to established procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of shipped merchandise.
- Inspect inventory for stock condition and report defects through appropriate channels.
- Support inventory control functions, including cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
- Promptly report safety hazards or concerns to Warehouse Manager.
- Maintain both paper and electronic files as required.
- Ensure a clean and safe warehouse environment; manage trash removal and floor cleaning.
- Assist with special projects and perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; relevant experience preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, specifically with inbound/outbound freight and product picking/delivery.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced distribution/warehouse environment.
- Strong physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, and pull items as needed.
- Proficiency in operating or willingness to learn to operate various types of warehouse equipment, especially forklifts.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with concrete flooring and variable temperatures.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
