Job Description
Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting for a Payroll & Benefits Director for our client located in Greensboro, NC.
This is a Direct Hire placement. Salary 115k-$130k, with 12.5% bonus
Position Overview:
The Payroll & Benefits Director functions as a strategic partner and subject matter expert. This role is accountable for building, designing, developing, implementing, administering, and analyzing all total rewards programs. This role assures that all compensation and benefit programs are competitive, cost effective, and aligned to the company’s strategic intent. Additionally, the Payroll & Benefits Director ensures best practices are utilized for vendor management, plan communications, and plan administration.
Responsibilities:
- Provides cost analysis and management reporting, in collaboration with Finance.
- Serves as SME for benefits to Human Resources department.
- Proposes new benefits offerings and presents their financial implications to senior management, focused on attracting and retaining talent.
- Ensures balance between maximizing benefits offerings and services to employees while minimizing costs to employees and the company.
- Serves as a respected liaison between broker, vendors, attorneys, and governmental agencies.
- Provides day-to-day oversight and supervision of payroll & benefits staff.
- Responsible for major benefits processes across the organization, such as health and wellness plans, leave administration, 401(k) and equivalent global programs and compliance-related matters.
- Responsible for day-to-day payroll and benefits requests.
- Responsible for the maintenance of payroll and benefits information in HR systems.
Payroll & Compensation
Develops payroll, compensation, and benefits strategies and plans to attract, engage, and retain key talent. Maintains these programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and relevance.
- Implements, analyzes, and enhances compensation programs and processes.
- Advises management on market trends, competitive compensation programs, and pay changes.
- Plans, recommends, develops, and implements new and revised comp programs, incentive plans, policies, and procedures to be responsive to company’s goals and competitive practices.
- Advises management, HR team, and recruiting on pay changes, incentive plans, policy, guidelines, and pay decisions.
- Leads and facilitates annual compensation plan forecast and development process, including annual merit and bonus programs along with sales commission structure and the automation of the sales compensation processes.
- Educates and trains management on compensation variable pay programs.
- In collaboration with Finance, calculates and presents compensation and benefits data for the Company.
Benefits
- Designs, manages, analyzes, and implements all benefits plans.
- Leads and develops programs with accountability and successful navigation of change management.
- Ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all benefits plans, including legislation and regulations outside the benefits arena.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. HRCI/SHRM certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong proficiency using MS Office products and intermediate experience with Excel
Working knowledge of HR systems
Effective project management skills
Ability to analyze data and make innovative recommendations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate difficult decisions
Accuracy with strong attention to details
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
