Job Description
THREADER
Location: Woolwine
Department: Knitting
SUMMARY
The general requirement of this job is to thread in new warps when they are installed in the Knitting machines. To help with smashes, special projects involving style changes, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To creel Rascheltronic Knitting machines
To re thread machines when new warps are installed.
To help with smashes, ends out, etc. as needed.
To help fill in for operators as needed.
To help with samples, style changes, etc.
To troubleshoot problems with warps.
Watch for safety hazards.
Abide by all safety rules and company policies.
Advise oncoming shifts of any quality related problems or mechanical problems with equipment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand in one location for one to two hours, stand 8 to 10 hours in 12-hour period of time, need good steady hands for tedious work, be able to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; sit and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have excellent vision 20/20 or 20/20 correctable vision.
While Creeling the associate is required to:
- to lift approximately 5 pounds/pern
- Change approximately 40 perns/hr. stocking creel at start.
- Change approximately 5-10 perns/hr. while spot creeling
- work performed at 12-24 inches overhead (use of step stools required) and creel perns approximately 4 inches above floor.
- Bending, stooping and squatting required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is at elevated levels requiring associates to wear hearing protection.
