Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting a Laser Machine Operator Assistant for our client located in North Attleboro, MA!
 
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
  • Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
 
Job Summary:
The Laser Machine Operator Assistant has the capability to assist the Laser Machine Operator in every step of the laser and cutting process. This includes the preparation of materials, handling of them, and operation of machinery. This role is a very physical and hands-on one where you will frequently engage with other departments to accomplish tasks, working with and lifting material for the most lean, effective cuts.

Objectives & Responsibilities:
  • Help in planning, operating, and creating many different medallions and awards.
  • Assists in the use of Laser machines as well as a computer to prepare and cut various materials and components for assembly of final products.
  • Load and position materials to be cut or lasered
  • Load into the sander and inspect material prior to the coating process
  • Assist the operator in the adjustment of settings
  • Move and rack finished products
  • Read and interpret art files to understand the geometric tolerances and esnure reduced waste in the cutting process
  • Assists with the preparation and completion of medals before and after the laser cutting process, including but not limited to sanding, machine maintenance, etc.
  • At times, assist in the assembly and packaging of awards and medals
  • Communicates purchasing needs to the production manager
  • Assist in all record keeping of the laser machine: Quantity produced, Materials Used, Issues Encountered
  • Skills & Qualifications:
  • Engraving equipment knowledge & software knowledge: Universal Engravers, Kern Engravers, IPG Laser, Boss Lasers
  • Software knowledge that is desired: Microsoft Office, Gmail, and/or Google Drive
  • A High Scholl Diploma, GED, or equivalent degree
  • Proven experience as a production worker or similar role is preferred but not required
  • The ability to critically listen to and operate on discussed plans
  • Strong communication skills and can work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail; Exhibit quality threshold of the department
 
Skills & Qualifications:
